| On August 18th 2002 Oracle had the privilege of performing for a
concert at McCullough Field Pavilion in Laurel Maryland, sponsored by the
City of Laurel and the Laurel Boys and Girls Club. A crowd of over a
hundred turned out in typical Washington area heat and humidity to enjoy
an evening of song favorites to sing along and dance to.
The audience included a large number of children who don't often get the opportunity to come out and hear the band, and we got them involved in the performance as well. We'd like to thank the City of Laurel Recreation Department as well as the Laurel Boy and Girls Club for sponsoring us. Click on any of the images for a full size view. |

Concerts always provide a unique diversion for the band. Our Oracle family came out in force to support us, and we'd like to let them all know just how much we appreciate their dedication and affection. You guys are the best!!! |

With a rather tall stage we enlisted the aid of several of the parents to make sure none of the kids took a dive off the edge of the stage. We got all of the dads involved as well though, showing off their best dance moves! |

This was the "meet and greet" session after the concert. At an Oracle show everyone has a backstage pass to come up and talk to the band, and we're happy to autograph the kids' beach balls and maracas that we passed out to them. All in all it was a great evening, and we sincerely hope we'll be back next year for a show that will be bigger and better (and cooler), than ever! |
